  • CHECK AND ADVISE Technician heard an audible clicking sound coming from under the steering column when dashboard was tapped. Found after market alarm activates every time it senses movement. Noticed that alarm is connected to the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) to Violet wire #15 for "Liftgate Ajar SW Signal". When alarm is activated, Instrument Cluster with message "Liftgate Ajar" and Interior lights turn on and remain on. This draws 2.5Amps and will cause a battery to die a overnight or two. Alarm is incorrectly installed. Possibly get whoever installed it to fix it. Technician does not have wiring instruction for this specific alarm and is unable to properly install alarm. Technician can disconnect the 1 wire to prevent draw to occur but alarm will possibly not operate properly.
  • CHECK AND ADVISE: Technician found 500mA draw. Noticed when headlight switch is tapped, interior lights turn on. Disconnected to test headlight switch and tapped in the surrounding and lights still come on and Instrument Cluster lights up and displays "Liftgate Ajar". Found draw coming from several fuses (m20, m27,m34) on Total Integrated Power Module. Vehicle has more than one electronic problem and will need additional time to diagnose. With additional time, technician will test Liftgate Module, Cluster, and TIPM. CLIENT ADVISED TO DISCONNECT WIRE GOING TO ALARM SYSTEM – CLIENT APPROVED DISCONNECTING WIRE – FOLLOWING THE DISCONNECTION, DRAW UPON BATTERY DISAPPEARED

  • TECHNICIAN FOUND: WIPER STREAKING – RECOMMEND REPLACING WIPER BLADES BRAKE FLUID HAS COPPER CONTENT – RECOMMEND BRAKE FLUID FLUSH VEHICLE APPEARS TO BE LEAKING COOLANT – RECOMMEND COOLANT PRESSURE TEST TO DETERMINE WHERE LEAKS ARE COMING FROM POWER STEERING FLUID IS LOW UPON ARRIVAL – TOPPED OFF FLUIDS VEHICLE HAS UNUSUAL TIRE WEAR – RECOMMEND A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT CLIENT ADVISED TO ALL RECOMMENDED REPAIRS AND SERVICES – CLIENT DECLINED ALL RECOMMENDED REPAIRS AND SERVICES AT THIS TIME BUT WILL RESCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER DATE AND TIME
